National Graphene Institute
National Graphene Institute, Manchester | Architectural Photographers London
The National Graphene Institute is housed within the new five-story glass-fronted £61 million building in Manchester. The building is the national centre for graphene research in the UK. The centre, designed by Jestico + Whiles and built by Bam Construct, provides 7,600 square metres of research space. The outer pierced stainless steel ‘veil’ wraps around a sophisticated structural design that is in fact two buildings. Both buildings have been built alongside each other and mechanically isolated due to vibrations affecting the research. As architectural photographers london we also shoot iconic buildings throughout the UK. Therefore the ‘operational’ mechanics of the building and it’s vibrations cannot interfere with the lab side of the building. The acutely sensitive research areas include two clean rooms (one of which occupies the entire lower ground floor). Other facilities include laser, optical, metrology and chemical laboratories. Our experience as architectural photographers london ensure that we can capture high profile projects in an eye-catching way around the UK. This world-leading research centre is part of the Manchester University campus. The facility is designed to provide a centre of excellence for graphene research. The building is also an incubator centre helping specialist embryonic companies become established in this field.
