Project Description

The Imperial Hotel was designed by Charles Fitzroy Doll between 1905 and 1911 on the east side of Russell Square, London as illustrated in the hotel photographer london. The building was demolished and replaced with a redesigned structure in 1966. Recent refurbishments shown in images by the interior photographer london have included vibrant designs implemented in the cocktail bar with golden art deco influences and the first floor bar with a 60’s treatment. The glazed pagoda roof above the bar in the commercial photography cascades light into the Art Deco inspired room that has a 30’s influence geometric carpet design in gold and green. The overall effect is one of luxury and opulence with the art deco styling providing providing unusual levels of comfort.
