Project Description
Ellacombe School in Torquay designed by Kay Elliott architects is an £0.6m structure funded by Torbay council. The structure has a large double height, mezzanined open plan teaching area with a canopied link to a walled garden and ‘thought cloud’ entrance gateway. The project won the Best Education Project award in the south-west regional heats of the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards.
The £0.6M structure has a double height open plan learning and teaching area for Nursery and Foundation aged children. There is a canopy with a large overhang to allow for outdoor play in poor weather within the walled garden play area.
