Project Description

Sandwell Collge in West Bromwich, Birmingham is the largest technical academy in the West Midlands and forms a key element in the regeneration of West Bromwich town centre. Cundall’s were appointed to design a low energy, BREEAM Excellent college for Interserve Engineering.  The construction site photography shows the seven storey building that has an imposing full height atrium and an unusual ‘seed pod’ reception structure.  The technical college provides valuable technical and vocational courses along with retraining opportunities to the region. Cundall’s have delivered an imposing design with the waveform roof covering a multi-level structure suited to it’s application. Traditional classroom spaces are housed in the upper levels while the car maintenance and construction skills are housed under the lower end of the wave roof.
